We’re inviting you to share positive moments and examples of good work from the field.
Each month, VCA will highlight one submission and recognize someone for a specific instance of meaningful work in child protection through an MDT, CAC, or board role. Recipients will receive a custom VCA pin and a small token of appreciation. We hope this becomes a space to celebrate the good work happening every day.

Good News from Brattleboro:
We’re thrilled to recognize Steve Brown (State’s Attorney), Dana Nevins (Deputy State’s Attorney), Carol Scott (State’s Attorney’s Office Victim Advocate), Mario Checchi (Sergeant Detective, Windham County Sheriff’s Department), and Tracy Shriver for the care, teamwork, and commitment they brought to a recent case involving an adult survivor and her younger sibling.
Every member of this team showed up with both skill and heart - working together to support justice and healing during an incredibly difficult time.
The impact of their work was summed up best by the survivor herself, who shared words that say everything about why this work matters: “You saved my life.”
We are especially grateful for the collaboration and compassion demonstrated throughout this case, and we are honored to recognize each team member with a custom VCA pin as a small token of our appreciation.
This is what meaningful partnership looks like and why taking time to share good news matters.
